Mysterious message

While resting from your most recent toilsome campaigns, you spot a scrap of paper blowing in the wind. Reaching out your hand, you catch loose alien anomaly. Orienting it properly, you see that it is a message written in bright red ink with impressive diligence. It reads as follows:

Calling anyone who comes into possession of this note;

Inquiring drastic, immediate assistance. Our city currently weathers a terrible storm. Our means of defence is falling apart. Send help immediately to the return location: 55* North, 62* West.

The final line appears especially urgent:

All life hangs in the balance.

As you finish reading, you hear a faint, piercing scream from an undeterminable direction. Upon considering the occurence, you somehow feel that the scream came from inside of the scrap of paper that you hold.
