| Of course, I've known this for years; I just never put it into practice until now, and I am blown away by the results. I originally had 1gb of RAM, and now I have 3gb. For the cheap price of $50, my computer feels almost futuristic and runs more smoothly than any technology I could have possibly imagined. I sat on the fence, not motivated enough to add this hallowed instrument for over a year. My friends, I sorely regret it. RAM is incredible. I can't stress this enough - if you have open slots for RAM, FILL THEM UP. I can't afford a new computer, so I decided that a $100 upgrade was all my current computer needs. It is a 2006 custom built Dell desktop. Yesterday, I added: New Graphics card, $40.00: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...0-378-_-ProductPower Supply, $28.00: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817371029RAM, $50: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...4-157-_-ProductNow that I've done all this, I realize I would have minimal improvements if I had just bought a brand new $600 computer. God, I love when you win with computers. | |
