| Here is where I will host the journal of the Toast Peddlers adventures in the nation of Talmriel and beyond. Beyond a written journal, I would like to post audio recordings of the play sessions as well. If anyone has a problem with this let me know. Unbeknownst to the players I did record most of the first play session. The recording is still under review and I'll hopefully be able to edit it a little with Audacity. The first chapter in the Toast Peddlers' journey seemed to be a rousing success; I'm looking forward the coming adventures. | |

| Can you post the audio clips here? Actually, I'm not asking you - I'm asking Eric.
I'm guessing you would have to post a link directing to a download.

| I can enable attachments, but we only have up to 20 megs of storage. I suggest you seek alternative methods for audio sharing, although I know how hard that can be. For now, attachments will be enabled. | |

| The Wav. files I have on my computer are about 10 mb per minute of audio. So you could split them up into 2-minute segments. That's practical, right? | |

| ...You mean 20 mb of storage PER ATTACHMENT, right? Our total cap isn't 20 mb is it?? | |

| Yes, it is 20 megs overall (and per attachment, I just turned the cap off because I figured nobody else would use it).
However.... Why are you using WAV? Why not use mp3 or ogg? Sure, you lose some quality in the compression, but surely a MP3 file at 320kbps would just as good, and the size/sound trade off is well worth it. I can understand the difficulties that can be presented in encoding MP3s, but OGG Vorbis is open source, and I am very certain Vorbis encoding is offered in Audacity.

| I have the file converted to MP3 and am currently uploading it. I have no idea how long it will take though (if it even works at all). | |

| well, enjoy the show everyone!
Sorry for the terrible sound quality; I'm just using my laptop's microphone for now.
Also, I realize part 1 starts in the middle of play, I forgot to start recording at the beginning.
Basically, our four players as of now are Atolbrand Rasmuut, Franz Worthington, ????, and The Old Man.
They met just outside the small town of Arevale as they were traveling the nation of Talmriel. Arevale sits at the base of the Cragcleft Mountain and its citizens give offerings to their gods of the mountain every four days.
As our adventure opens, the four travelers see the processional of gifts and decide to investigate...

ya, again I'm sorry about the sound quality. I highly suggest wearing headphones. once I figure out audacity a little more I'll work on it a little more. I was just so excited to get it on the forum as quickly as I could

| With audacity, click the "view" tab and zoom in until it displays about 15 second intervals. You can literally "see" where the audio is low, as the display appears very thin. Hold left click and highlight these sections, then click the "Effects" tab, and click "amplify." Check "Allow Clipping," and adjust the amplification to about 0.4. Press ok, and you'll see the thin display thicken significantly. Now, you can highlight other low audio areas, press "CTRL+R," and it will repeat the same 0.4 ampification over any desired area.
Note that this is an extremely arduous process. 0.4 amplication is also quite a jump, so you might want to find something smoother.
Noise reduction is another feature I'm looking at. It seems to do some great work.
